Choosing Park Maitland

We know that parents have a lot of choices for their child’s education. So, why do families choose Park Maitland School and stay with us until their child graduates? It’s because so many wonderful things happen at our private school, #OnlyAtParkMaitland. Let us tell you more!

Learning Begins in Wonder

Since our opening, Park Maitland has evolved to adapt to ever-changing social and academic standards. However, one thing has remained the same. Learning has always begun in wonder. Whether it be our expansive and inclusive arts curriculum or new technology and innovation in the iHub which holds our library, science labs, and Maker Space, we are dedicated to sparking passion within our students. Tradition is important to us. We want to make sure every student feels like they are a part of something bigger than themselves. That all begins with discovering their interests and fostering curiosity to help them grow and keep the legacy of Park Maitland alive.

1st Grade Festival of Nations

From an early age, our students learn about diversity and the importance of unity. Our 1st grade students host a Festival of Nations to honor the diversity that is the glue of our school. As a whole, we are proud of the different beliefs, backgrounds, and lifestyles that make up our community. This day of music and learning empowers not only our 1st grade students. All students get to see the display of inclusivity.

5th Grade Wax Museum

Wonder what it is like to see living historical legends all under one roof? Our Wax Museum is just the place. Our 5th grade students dress as their chosen historical figure and give a 5-8 minute speech for their families and the whole school. This project involves extensive research and creativity to help bring to life the stories of our world’s greatest leaders. Not only is this an educational experience for our whole school, but also a chance to boast our love for performing arts.

5th Grade Food Truck

Our 5th grade students get to see what it is like to start their own business! Our annual Food Truck project allows them to come up with a product to sell from their “food truck” and create a full business plan. The plan entails not only conceptualizing what they would do, but writing and creating commercials, doing basic accounting, and presenting their food truck business in front of real successful local business owners.

Leadership in Community Service

All of our students take part in community service. We also have many ambitious students that strive to lead in service and help to not only organize service learning projects, but continuously propose new ways to help our community. Our Park Maitland Ambassadors have led service projects benefiting Toys for Tots, A Grateful Mind Food Drive, and the Honored Elders Program. They raise money, collect goods, and provide time to lift up others.

Outdoor Adventures

Through what we call “Learning Without Walls,” our students get to venture far and wide to not only apply their knowledge, but also make connections with individuals in communities unknown to them. These trips break away from the confines of a classroom. They provide physical examples and tools to understand academic concepts as well as show how much there is to see in the world. Some of our middle school Learning Without Walls adventures have included our 5th grade history trip to Colonial Williamsburg, our 7th grade trip to New York City where students can see two Broadway performances, and Washington D.C. for the 6th grade. Our 4th grade students visit St. Augustine, the oldest city in the United States. Our 2nd grade students visit Gatorland to learn about natural habitats.
