Leadership & Faculty Home / About Us / Leadership & Faculty Dedicated Leaders & Expert Teachers At our school, everyone works together to make sure students and families feel happy and supported. Our leaders, staff, and teachers are all here to help. Our teachers love sharing what they know, whether it’s about reading, music, or outer space! They make learning fun and exciting, helping students explore new things and find what they love. Together, we create a special place where students can grow and learn every day. From the Head of School Bianca Moore Dear Future Park Maitland Family, Park Maitland has been part of the Maitland community since 1968, and nearly a quarter of our current families are legacy, some now in their third generation. That continuity says something about what families find here, and why they stay. I was watching a fifth-grade Food Truck Challenge last week — kids presenting a full business plan, with investors, a budget, and real stakes — and it struck me how naturally they moved between the math, the writing, and the strategy. That integration doesn’t happen by accident. It’s what purposeful, interdisciplinary teaching looks like when it’s working. At Park Maitland North, our teachers don’t teach across subjects — each one teaches one, deeply. A child moving through our building encounters a science teacher who eats and breathes science, a language arts teacher who is always going to ask one more question. Because they’re each focused on a single discipline, they go further than a generalist can. And because the school is small enough that teachers actually know your child, they know exactly how far to push. Our average teacher tenure is over 20 years, meaning the person teaching your child in third grade has watched hundreds of children just like yours find their footing and knows what that takes. The academics reflect that depth. Our math curriculum runs ahead of grade level — Algebra I Honors is available as early as 6th grade, and most of our graduates enter high school in Spanish 3 after beginning the language in Pre-K. One hundred percent of our graduates have been accepted to their top high school choices, and Park Maitland alumni have gone on to Georgetown, Duke, Yale, Princeton, and Virginia Tech, among others. The education here is bigger than academics, though. Our students donate an average of 40,000 meals each year through Hungry to Help, and every 8th grader graduates having toured three college campuses, so the path ahead feels concrete before high school begins. Through our Leaders in Action program, students hold real jobs in service to the school community and learn to carry themselves — eye contact, a firm handshake, genuine conversation — so that confidence becomes a habit, not a performance. When I think about who our graduates are, I see kids who are willing to speak in front of a room, who have navigated challenging situations and come through them stronger, and who know how to lead. That grows slowly, and it starts here. If you’re considering us, come walk the campus. Sit outside with the kids at lunch. Watch a class. That’s the only way to actually understand what I’m describing. I’d love to be your guide.
