Charitable Giving

Through collaborative philanthropic initiatives with our North and South campuses, students actively participate in seasonal traditions including our November Food Drive for local schools, our December Toy Drive benefiting Baby DJ, and our annual Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation fundraiser for childhood cancer. Supported enthusiastically by the majority of our families, these efforts, alongside community “Dress Down Days,” connect real-world compassion with foundational character development.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I enroll my child in preschool?

The research is clear: the earliest years of a child’s life are among the most consequential for cognitive, social, and emotional development. At Park Maitland Preschool in Winter Park, we welcome children as young as 12 months old, meeting families at the very beginning of the journey. Our proprietary Links to Learning curriculum is designed to support development at every stage, building language skills, social-emotional foundations, cognitive agility, and the early routines and sense of responsibility that set children up for a lifetime of learning.

What is the best preschool in Winter Park?

Park Maitland Preschool offers a premier early childhood education program in Winter Park. Our teachers bring our Links to Learning curriculum to life through an approach that is simultaneously rigorous and joyful, weaving academic, social, and emotional development into every moment of the school day. For families searching for a preschool that genuinely invests in who their child is becoming, Park Maitland Preschool is the clear choice.

What is Links to Learning?

Links to Learning is the proprietary curriculum at the heart of everything we do at Park Maitland Preschool. Developed by our Education Department, a team of specialists with deep expertise across early childhood, elementary, and secondary education, Links to Learning is a comprehensive, flexible program designed to meet each child where they are and prepare them fully for kindergarten and the learning that follows. It is not simply a set of lesson plans. It is a philosophy of how young children learn best, expressed through every activity, every interaction, and every intentional moment of the school day.

What makes Links to Learning different from other preschool curriculums?

Links to Learning is built on a foundational insight: young children learn most deeply when lessons connect to what they already love. Rather than delivering isolated skills, our instructional experts design experiences that link multiple areas of development simultaneously, tailored to each child’s genuine interests. A child who loves building with blocks is guided to name the colors, count the pieces, and describe the structure, linking language development, mathematical thinking, and fine motor skill in a single, joyful experience. Students are so engaged in what they are doing that learning feels like play!

What are the hours at Park Maitland Preschool in Winter Park?

Reliable, consistent child care is not a convenience, it is a necessity for working families, and Park Maitland Preschool is designed to provide it. Our school is open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, offering the flexibility families need to manage work, appointments, and the full complexity of daily life with confidence, knowing their child is safe, engaged, and learning.

Beyond physical security, our entire team is CPR and First Aid certified, and every staff member undergoes rigorous fingerprinting and background clearances.

Families pack lunch for their child each day. A morning and afternoon snack are provided by the school and included in tuition, ensuring that children are nourished and energized throughout their time with us.

Does my child need to be potty trained?

No. At Park Maitland Preschool, we understand that every child develops at their own individual pace, and potty training is no exception. Our teachers support students at every stage of the potty training journey with patience, consistency, and care. We also partner closely with families to ensure that routines carry seamlessly between home and school, because we know that the most effective support for a young child is a unified one.

What does a typical day look like at Park Maitland Preschool?

Our students are walked into our school building by their parents and escorted directly to their classrooms. Once inside, students engage in hands-on exploration across the key developmental pillars of our proprietary Links to Learning curriculum: Language & Literacy, Math, Social-Emotional Development, Wellness, Creative Expression, Science, and Citizens of the World. We also provide specialized enrichment classes, including Spanish, Music and Movement, and P.E. Throughout the day, parents receive photos and the at the end of the day, parents are welcomed inside for pick-up and have the opportunity to connect with teachers.

How does Park Maitland Preschool approach discipline and behavior guidance?

We believe that each child is unique, and that no single approach works for everyone. That’s why we take the time to truly get to know each student and their family, allowing us to tailor our approach to behavioral guidance in the most effective and supportive way possible.

What should I look for when choosing a preschool in Winter Park?

Families in Winter Park should choose a preschool that creates a welcoming, nurturing environment where educators value each family’s uniqueness. It should be a place that fosters community and connection through open communication, special events, and opportunities for involvement. Most importantly, a preschool should value academic rigor while inspiring a genuine love of learning in young children.
